Jerman Beach is situated right next to the north side of the airport. This beach used to be a harbour decades ago. Merchants were coming from many countries buying some spices, arts, and other things from Bali through this harbour, but as time went by, the airport started operating; this harbour was no longer as busy as before.
Many expatriates from Germany also resided in this area; that is why locals called this beach Pantai Jerman (Germany Beach).
It has a long walking path by the shore normally used by locals and guests from nearby hotels for jogging and biking every afternoon. There are several beach bars on the beach offering snacks and beverages with cosy sunbeds for relaxing.
Normally it is busy during the afternoon (sunset hours). If you are interested in aeroplane sightseeing, Jerman beach is the perfect place. You can see many planes take off and land in Bali airport almost every minute during the high season.
