Bali following its roadmap into opening for tourism again
A new phase of “New Era of Life Order Protocol” will start in four days, 31 July 2020. Based on the decree signed by the Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster, domestic travellers from other islands in Indonesia will be allowed to visit Bali for tourism purposes. However, until today the official updates on specific regulations for the upcoming visitors have not been released yet. The visitor must still follow the domestic flight requirements: ID Card, PCR or Rapid-Test Certificate (valid for 14 days), online registration at https://cekdiri.baliprov.go.id/ and fill up the Health Alert Card/ HAC.
Pak Koster explained after an online meeting with the Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Pandjaitan that every a massive preparation is being carried out in every level of tourism departments from the village to the province. “At the moment, socialization is being carried out to the lowest level for tourism businesses. Besides, a certification process also has been carried out to all tourism businesses which will open their business activities, whether it’s a tourist attractions, restaurants, hotels and other tourist destinations, must be checked” the Governor said.
While on his Youtube channel Luhut explained “On Wednesday, I will coordinate with the Tourism Minister (Wishnutama), to reopen tourism in Banyuwangi. Then, we’ll reopen Bali on the 30th, and subsequently several other regions.” Following his statement, this former army general also mentioned that it would take at least a year for Indonesia’s tourism sector to recover from the multifaceted ramifications of the ongoing pandemic fully.
Meanwhile, at Nusa Dua area, the exclusive five-stars resorts in South Bali managed by Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), stringent regulations have been implemented since the beginning of this month.
- Every visitor entering the ITDC area must show a booking confirmation
- Locals who wish to enter the location must show their valid Card and declare the purpose of visits
- Vendors and workers must show their valid ID Card
- Everyone must wear a mask practice social distancing
- Several activities near beach area like surfing, cycling, jogging, and Waterblow visit is temporarily not opened for public
- If a visitor starts showing Covid-19 symptoms will be immediately sent to BIMC Siloam Nusa Dua Hospital
These steps are considered crucial for this specific area which been appointed as the pilot project for Bali new-normal tourism plan. Nusa Dua has all the criteria for a perfect holiday destination because of its strategic location and superior facilities nearby.
So far, Bali has recorded 3157 positive Covid-19 cases as of Sunday (26/7) evening, with 48 deaths and 2489 recoveries. The provincial administration has reported a few numbers of local transmissions cases recently, particularly in Denpasar. This figure is relatively small compared to more than 100,303 cases and 4,838 fatalities in Indonesia.
